For years now we have been telling people that once they have wired the money, it is gone and there is nothing that can be done to recover the money, but I am happy to say that we are now making progress to change that!

The Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Department in Minnesota HAS been able to recover money for victims!

If you receive a Fraudulent Solicitation, Report it:
• Via email — forward the email to dps.reportfraud@state.mn.us

• Via phone — report any information to local law enforcement or the Minnesota Board of Aging LinkAge line, 1-800-333-2433

• Via mail — send all the original documents, including the envelope, to:
Alcohol Gambling Enforcement Division — Fraud Report
444 Cedar St. #133
St. Paul, MN 55101

That is the plan. I spoke with Bill White and he said that he department would like to share with other states what they are doing, so that people in every state will be able to recover money.

I sure hope that Washington state can follow in your footsteps. I was scammed 20,000 from a man over a internet dating site since Sept 2008. I want my voice heard. I am trying every site I can to tell others watch out for eric mcfadden. He gives a sob story he does not have family, he had to go overseas to work and scammed me for medical, work and travel assistance. If anyone hears my complaint, please contact me or direct me to whom I need to speak with. I have contacted the FTC, romance website, western union. I feel that I keep telling my story and I am not getting anywhere.
This man is either in London or Lagos. I know for a fact this is a 419 scam. He proposed to me over the internet and I never met him. He was to visit me over a period of 5 months and never showed. He has a tendency to tell the victim to call him when it is convienient. Also he states that his computer does not always work. Well I did some reading today and found out why-these people take shifts and sometimes the person writing to you may not be him. Also the pictures sent to me I do not believe are of this man.

Thank you for listening and if any assistance, please let me know.
I want justice done on this man.

File comment: here is a picture of him, I think. Again I have never met him.

First, now you know the warning signs of a scam, so you have that to protect you
Second, you can go here to report this scam http://scamvictimsunited.com/Reporting_scams.htm
Third, contact your bank if the scammers have that info so that the bank can be on alert for any odd transactions
Finally, you might want to check your credit score and look at the information on Identity Theft protection

It looks like the Nigeria scammers or many other countries can not bit the USA by regular war, they cheated and stolen USA citizen's money all the time by internet scam, this is a internet war, our govenment should bit back, such as to pass some laws such as all the big email host companies (yahoo, hotmail, google, etc...) should show all foreignors (emeils from other countries) emails real IP address (most scammers use proxy to hide their real IP addresses, they are in Nigeria, but they say they are in UK or USA) , and gives RED WORDS warning every email that from other countries everytimes, and allow USA citizen to check the email, phone real owners from other countries, or bank have to disclosure the reall owner of the scammer's accounts email, so that our victims can discover and recover the lost mnoey ASAP. That may reduce a mount of victims. The more money our citizen lost, the more people (victims) will claim welfare, the more burden our govenment will suffer.
I have been a lot of money, but no one want to release the scammer's informatiom to me, I have to spend a lot of money to hire private investigators to find the real IP address and location which is in Nigeria (the scammed says he is in USA and UK).
Can we ask govenment to pass some laws to protect USA citizen scammed by other countries's scammer? Think about the law details and submit it to our senators and president!
It is necassanry now to face the internet war!

I got through the same situation and the fact that the department have no accurate answer to the money recovery still remains. I don't even sure that cell phone spyware they helped someone.

How are they doing that?I am very much interested in this. My $19900 has been scammed for the past 2 years by a man from China who claimed to help me in ship some products to my country. Ever since, he has not been seen. His phones were no more getting through. If Minnesota could help me. I will be happy.
