I was wondering if anyone ever came across a scam from a Craigslist personal ad? I was selling a few things on CL and I decided to check out the personals section. Came across 2 ads, emailed them and the following letters are what I received. Both seem sort of similar and I believe they come from the same IP addresses as well, but Im not sure. If someone can clarify this for me and tell me if they are from the same sender, or if you think its a scam I would love to know. -Anthony
p.s. neither links work and i believe its some way of getting ppl to join dating sites and whatnot.

Hey,
Thanks for your response, it was a little different than I thought it would be....in a good way!

I am just sitting here at work right now, don't really have alot of time, I'm in research here at GGL labs, It might sound impressive but I
basically do testing on blood samples. Really exciting , huh, lol.

It does get kinda lonely here, just me and the equiptment and the computer, thank God for that.
I haven't really been searching for anyone til recently when I just started to get these feelings, like I just needed someone in my life. Kinda
weird, cause I am usually very independent, but lately , been thinking alot about it.

I think what may have triggered it was when I went home for family reunion and the family kept asking me who I was seeing now. So, i started looking
around on the net and decided after about 2 weeks of "thinking about it , decided to go for it and now here we are.
I don't know if we would be a match yet, but without sounding too presumptuous, I think it looks good so far :).
So, anyways, I just logged in to check my email, saw you responded and I didnt want to let too much time pass before at least getting back to you.

I feel that my life is going pretty great, its just this one area I need to work on, since I really dont go clubbing, when I do go out with my
friends we usually just do the regular stuff like going out to eat and to the movies, saw a great movie recently, it was called "What happens in
Vegas" or something like that.

Anyways, I have my whole life story and quite a few pics on my page at http://www.exx6.com/BrittanysProfilePics . This is kinda like a facebook type
page, you can check it out and let me know if my life story is interesting to you or not. I'm very excited to hear what you think, please let me know
if you think we would be a match, who knows what the future holds, it may end up that we are right for each other.

Bye for now xoxo

Brittany

They don't jump out at scream scam at me, but I just read through them fast. I did delete YOUR personal info from the post . . . you don't want your email and IP address out there like that.

I know that MANY have encountered scammers on Craigslist.

Thanks Man I appreciate it. I was wondering if you knew anything about the "sender" details that I attached. Its a mixture of symbols and numbers and I believe the IP addresses are the same. Do you know much about that? I assume that if the IP addresses are indeed the same then the emails are definitely phony and just simply bring my hopes up so I can join the dating websites they link too. I appreciate any info you have.

Perfect information! You concluded exactly what I thought was happening. A scam. Nothing but some fake BS letters from the same IP address on 2 different personal ads. Dozens must fall for this trick. I hope me posting this saves one person from the agrivation I avoided. Thank you sir, god bless what you and your team do for people around the world. -Anthony

Actually, I am a ma'am . . . my family is Irish, and my parents really liked the name Shawn.

And for now our "team" is myself, my husband and the moderators and regulars at this board. Some day I hope that we will grow and have a much bigger team.
