There was an article in this Thursday's paper about a local car parts store that was the victim of a Nigerian scam. According to the paper, a man called the store last May and ordered $9,800 of parts, paying with credit cards. He asked the store to ship them to an address in Canton, Ohio - a woman. It turns out that the credit cards were stolen. The woman in Canton had listed herself on a Personal board, and received calls or e mails from the perpetrator asking her to mail the car parts to him in Africa, assuring her that his wife you to do this for him. The woman had no idea that the merchandise was obtained through fraud. The store is out $9800 and the parts are making their way to Africa now.
