Hi all i'm from New Zealand and chat with a gentleman from Wales..I am very worried about a lady he is chatting with in Lagos..He has sent her money over to come and join him..but she supposedly had an accident on the way to airport ..spent time in hospital and now needs more money..she says she is an ex british subject but has lived in Nigeria for many years with her parents but her father has died and her mother runs a cocoa business but is being threatened by people who owe her money..i have tried to get him to see reason..but he is convinced she is above board..i even emailed her myself which he says made her very angry and insists he cuts all contact with me or she will not come over to him..he is a pensioner and quite elderly and has no family and very little money..i am a loss at what to do and hope i can get some ideas from here..thanks Barb

Have him read some of the other posts on our message board about people who have sent money to people they meet online, and how they get scammed out of thousands!

The bottom line is he is being scammed and by not listening to you allowing himself to get further and further into a hole with his finances. You can only warn him and do so sternly so much, if he is going to keep falling for this, then he has noone to blame but himself.

I would definately send him over to this board for an education about what is going on. Let me guess you do Yahoo chat? that is a den of thieves on there lately.
