Hey guys, I'm looking for some scam baiters to help me shut down the on-going craigslist scams in the the computer and electronics sections of CL. Basically the scam works like this: scammer posts ad for 2 month old iMac and uses stock photos. Victim replies and scammer sends more pics of item, explains they're now in Italy or the UK and can ship it via TNT 3rd party shipping service. Scammer includes link to fake site w/ TNT logos and scam content. Victim agrees to terms and receives emails from fake site asking for payment. Victim sends payment (WU) and item is "shipped." Obviously it's never shipped. You may or may not have seen this scam, but if you have it's pretty easy to bait. Scammers have used iMacs, Macbook Pros, iPhones, iPads, Sony laptops and a few other high value items as bait. Here are the sites I've managed to shut down: shiptnt.uk.com wv-tnt.com ukdepots-tnt.com euship-tnt.com wtdepot-tnt.com wldepot-tnt.com wlht-tnt.com england-tnt.com deliver-tnt.com wtuk-tnt.com shippingtnt.com is pending wlt-tnt.com is pending (should be shut down in about 48hrs or less) I've closed a couple others, but I lost track of the domains. I've been able to put real pressure on this scam group... their postings/ads aren't as frequent AND they're taking longer to reply to my ad inquiries. If anyone would like to join me in this venture, contact me at clscambaiter@gmail.com I'll explain how to bait, reply tactics, and how to shut down sites. -CLScamBaiter |

So i did not know until just now that TNT was a scam and i sent some money WU to them yesterday I have all the emails on to which I was in contact with the man who was renting out his apartment in San Jose Ca and I correspond with him a few time and he hand me all the same specs that I saw on other peoples post on this site. I sent the money through WU and now i and frantic with how do i get it back..i looked on other forums that say the company is legit but sometimes the deals are questionable.. i would really like any advice or some way to follow through to correct this problem. Contact Western Union . . . if the money has not been picked up you may be able to stop the transfer If you cannot stop the transfer, then you can report the scam to the places listed here http://scamvictimsunited.com/Reporting_scams.htm |
