there really isn't a way to take anyone down in these types of scams since nobody really knows who they are. If you close down one name on craigslist they will just make up more. Who knows if the person posting the scams are even the same people. I feel your pain on getting scammed but there really isn't much that you can do other than post your story so others don't get scammed like you did.

And one other thing, you are NOT and idiot. These people know how to get people hooked and are very good at it.

Yep, Rus is right. Some scammers take psychology degrees so they can more effectively scam their victims. They have, sadly, had many months, often years to figure out which lies work best.
