We were taken by a cheque scam from the company called Delixi Consults and the cheque was of course phony. Well now that have called us up and are saying some Law Firm's name and that someone (they say the name very fast and mumbled so you can't really make it out) has a claim against you in order to get their money that way. The firm they are using is out of Ontario in Canada and is called Steven Walters but it's a different number to the real one and when you call you get a lady's answering machine and the name on it is Mrs. Edward Yan. The area code they are using is 905.

I am not really sure that I followed everything thing you were trying to say, but if you were a victim of a scam and lost money and are now being contacted by someone claiming to be with a law firm that can help you to recover the money you lost PLEASE BE CAREFUL . . . IT COULD BE ANOTHER SCAM!

What happens is this "lawyer" will tell you that there are fees you need to pay in order for him to do the work to recover your money. He will ask you to wire him the amount for the fees. You may hear back from him telling you that he is getting VERY close to catching your scammer and recovering your money, but he has a few more exspences and needs additional fees/money from you. This will continue for as long as you keep sending him money.

I’m not satisfied with what admin has replied to the post! See, if he really want to catch the spammer then he may spent money. Truly he needs a local legal attorney to help him out of this scam and in getting back his money.

All you need to go for a legal attorney for further proceedings. Money matters but added to it you need to know the spammer. Otherwise there will be another victim. To solve the problem take the help of a law firm.

Daniel007 and Santana,

Can I ask how the two of you know each other?

The legal firm they refer you to is another scam. They claim they will get your money back and they just get more money from you. Why trust them with the fact that you are being sued for money that was a scam from the beginning? They are trying to scare you into sending them money. There is no way they, the person who sent you a fake check, are going to go to court and sue you for money that was never there. If you were going to be sued it would be by the bank where you deposited the check, where you would owe the money to. The scammers claim that this law firm they have is after you, why believe someone who lied to you from the beginning. I'm sorry if this all sounds harsh but sometimes it takes straight forward language to bring out the understanding.
youngtalbot please do not get involved with this so called lawfirm. You are not going to be able to catch the scammers. The scammers are out of the country in which most people live and will continue to push for more money knowing that they will not be caught. Yes it is a good idea to contact an attorney to help you if you are involved in a real lawsuit but in this case I believe it is the scammer trying to use scare tactics to get the money.

I kind of suspected that since Daniel007 and Santana both have the same IP address.

Plus, law firms are not going to come to sites "looking for" business or calling up people who were scammed trying asking them if they would like help getting money back . . . law firms have enough business with the people that come to them.

Find a lawyer in your area, if you need help searching I would be happy to help in any way that I can, but find someone locally that you can meet with face to face.
