I work for a company, and I recently received a strange series of events.
I got a call from MCIWorldcom international, in which a person was engaging in text to speech through an operator, the operator spoke the words of the person to whom I was talking, and transcribed mine for the other person.
Turns out this person wants to order 2 laptops from my company.
OK...
So, I tell her to e-mail me. I wonder how she would have my phone # w/o my e-mail anyways, since all of my correspondence has both, but anyways...
I get an e-mail from her. I check the IP and it's in Ghana.
I e-mailed her asking a question, this is the reply:
Quote:
1. To where will this laptop be shipped?
They are going tto be sent to a children aid school for donation but the shipping
location is not confirmed and and moreover for the shipping it will be handled by
or FEDEX or DHL shipping account number.
2. What operating system do you prefer on the laptops?
Microsoft windox XP home or office
3. What type of video card and sound card? Will this be used for gaming,
and need a strong video card, or will a basic card suffice?

Thank you
I can't help but assume that this is an attempt to scam....
