 Post subject: alibaba.com - is bank to bank transfer a safe way?

is there a sense of somekind of protection/legimaticy if payment is made through bank account transfers?

i have met 2 companies on alibaba.com 'fashionharbour.net' and 'seekingfashion.com' and i want to buy some stock, i asked them for bank account as i think this way i abit safer - BUT IS IT SAFER!?

please replk back and help explain to me the 'cons' in doing this.

Not necessarily safer - where are the people behind these websites located? Same country as you or abroad? If the latter, probably no safer than sending them cash via Western Union.

There is no legitimacy or protection. Even if the transfer was within the same country! You are voluntarely giving up your money, the banks are under regulation and they will not give you ANY information about the other party in case a problem occurs. They will only release information to law enforcement or a court ordered subpoena.

In any case, if you did find them, the likely hood of getting your money back is slim.

The only safe methods of trading are, credit card, cod (inspect before agent leaves), escrow.com, escrow through a corporate trust account (bank) or paying at sight.

We basically have two services: collections

and the value added service of hand delivering your payments to the supplier while calling you on the telephone and inspecting your merchandise before delivery. Replica products ok, quite common here in China.
