I have recently been looking to trade with suppliers of PSP and iPod's. Reading your forums it would appear that a vast majority of these are scams.

After contacting many of these traders one of these appear that they may be legitimate.

1. Make an initial contact. Inquire about prices, shipment terms, and (among others) payment terms
2. Check the English on the mail you get back. If it is bad, fraud potential goes up
2.1 If he offers free shipment through DHL worldwide, within 48 hours, fraud potential goes up
3. If he only accepts payment by Western Union/MoneyGram/any kind of cash transfer, it is very probable this is a fraud. DO NOT BE TEMPTED TO USE ESCROW SERVICES!!!!!!! (Sorry. Can't emphasize this enough...)
4. He is listed on a site that publishes exporters/importers. This adds NOTHING to his credibility. Don't be fooled.
5. Ask if you can contact him by phone. Hint: If he says 'oh sorry, our system has been down for two weeks now', cut and run. where in the western world is a phone system down for two weeks?!

1 - They accept paypal, company cheque and bank transfer
2 - english is fine
3 - shipping is extra and you can choose a service
4- i have spoken to him on the phone and he is deffo american, once they didnt answer and the answer machine answered saying dnm imports bla bla bla...

Think i may have found a legit supllier...

Just wanted to see if anyone could give me any scare stories.

All your signs show he's definitely not one of the Romanian scammers.

i am also enqiuring about purchasing from this company. Have you had any luck anyone?

My advice is never trade on Alibaba with an uncertified member, Gold member or TrustPass holder.
I am just about to uncover a quite big scam on Alibaba. Because is an entire network of scammers it takes time, but I hope soon I'll be able to post on this forum the so called "companies" and their email addresses,
but as I said it takes time to verify all this traders. I wouldn't want to discredit anyone.

There's just one problem; Once you've discovered them, and they've been removed from Alibaba, nothing will stop them from registering once again. That's the beauty (from their point of view) of the whole thing.
