Sign our petition asking for Scam Education and Awareness Programs. By doing so with this link, a letter will be sent to your State Representatives asking them to make scam education and awareness a priority.

Added to our Facebook profile at CyberCrimeOps. Unfortunately I can't sign, being non-USA, but I agree with the need for education and awareness 110%

Thanks for the excellent letter. I signed it. I will pass the word along.

Edit: 11 and counting. I sent a note to the admin of Cyber Crime Ops and asked if they would pass the word about the petition.

43 signatures... good show.

Shawn, you have an account at FraudWatchers.ORG -- Large audience there! Maybe they can put a note in their News section?

That is next on my list of things to do . . . hit the message boards and post it . . . I have just been so busy that I have not had time. (if it were not for my day job I would get so much more scam fighting done!)

I asked the Admin of RomanceLoveScams if she could move it so guess could see it. She moved the post. It is now here

I pm'd a member of RomanceScam. She said she would sign it. She also offered the following suggestion. I pm'd her and said if she started a petition then I would pass the word along.

Quote:
Excellent! Of course, I'll be happy to support it. However, it could use additional information regarding the truths and realities of Americans stranded in foreign countries, proper immigration procedures and warnings about bank transfers, Western Union and Moneygram payments. Otherwise, I think our government believes they've done enough with fakechecks.org and a brief public service campaign advertisement on TV a few years back.

I just love it when we all come together for a common goal.

I agree with what the member of Romance Scams said . . . I think that all of these things could be a part of the Scam Education and Awareness Programs . . . but the first step is to get them to see the need for the program. (you should ask if they would like to be a part of our letter writing campaign and they can list these points out in their letter)
