Hello, I'm a Journalism and Mass Communication major at the University of Iowa and I'm working on an investigative piece into the lack of FCC oversight on the relay fund.

I'm looking to interview multiple victims of fraud who have been scammed by people who used IP relay service to contact them. Ideally, I would like to use one victim's story as the main narrative to walk readers through the process. It can be any type of scam; Love scams, Advanced fee, etc.

I'm only looking to expose the lack of FCC oversight and explain what a huge problem fraud is, and how our IP relay service contributes to the problem by being improperly regulated.

If you are interested and willing to be interviewed please contact me either via this thread or send me a PM if that's more comfortable.

Thank you!

Tyler

I am always willing to put my 2 cents in on the topic. I used to have the contact information for some IP relay operators that were frustrated with scams and fraud. I could see if they would be willing to speak with you also.

Also, I have a really good contact at the Iowa Attorney General's office that might have some information you could use.

Thanks Shawn, I would be interested in any contacts that you have. Were you a scam victim yourself that was contacted via relay yourself?

No . . . we were not contacted via relay for our scam, but once we started this site we did find people who were, and IP relay operators who were frustrated about the situation.

If you could PM me your contact info, I will send it to the IP relay operators that I know and see if they are interested in speaking with you.

IP relay operators

Is an IP relay operator similar to a telephone relay operator? Just want to know.
