Post subject:  media inquiry -- holiday scam victims

Hello,

The Naughty American, a national online news publication, is writing an article on holiday scams. We'd like to talk to victims who have lost money to fake charities and businesses, or who have had gift cards used before they were even opened.

We'll gladly grant you anonymity upon request. If interested, please contact Mike (use the email link below)

Thank you

Mike,
I edited your post to remove the email address . . . it is not safe to post your email address . . . that is how some scammers collect emails. With our site, other members can always us the email link that is directly below each post you make.

My husband and I were hit by our scam in October 2002, and I do remember that it made holiday shopping tight that year. Because of that, we here at ScamVictimsUnited.com do a Secret Santa program each holiday season.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I just got off the phone from doing my interview with Mike. I think it went really well. (sorry if I talked your ear off Mike!)

I would encourage others to contact Mike and share their story. If you do not want your name used in the story, I am sure that he can arrange that.

Remember . . . education is the key to fighting these scams, and news stories like these are the BEST form of education out there!
