I am trying to rent some rooms, have received at least 4 of these scams, just got a certified check (Illinois credit union) today via UPS from one 'so-called' lady after telling her not to send money, only send me a copy of her passport. Just curious, has anyone gotten solid feedback or results from investing the time to report these to the FBI, Secret Service, or local Police? I will take this check to my bank to verify and research, but I know it is bogus. I've already emailed the person to tell them my bank will hold the check for three weeks, so there are no funds available to send to anyone. Any other suggestions? W |
