I became a victim of fraud this morning when I had a gut feeling to call my bank about a large withdrawal I made yesterday pertaining to money orders that had supposedly cleared my account. I, along with a few others, have found myself victim to Roommates.com. All the warning signs were there, but I didn't think to do any research like some fortunate people. I feel dumb, but I know I'm not a dumb person. I am just wondering if there can be any justice done in this situation. I feel upset with Roommates.com and need to know if I can do anything else. I have done it all, the local police, secret service, FBI, attorney general, and my bank! I feel there is nothing else I can do. My $4,500 loss is too much money to just say ok, that sucks, but I’ll pay you back with all my savings, as well as some wonderful repayment plan that will probably take years. If anyone has any thoughts, or insight, I am open to any suggestions.
