does this sound familiar to anyone: within 24 hours of contact on eHarmony, contact is in love, "chosen by God", works in business requiring travel overseas for 3 months or so at a time, parents and wife and child killed, writes in broken Eng., sent balloons, teddy bear and flowers after first week, calls her "honey", pictures look like models.? Worried about friend.

I totally agree it's a scam.... I had a very similiar experience a couple of years ago. Send your friend here to this site.... it may help them understand these scams better if they read more about them from others who have become victims of this same scam.

Post subject:  My guys name was Brian Tyler same story

He was an oil drill engineer. He was sent to amsterdam to install drill lines and maintain them on a rig. His wife died during childbirth and his baby girl died one month later. He wanted to take care of me...Blah Blah. He told me how beautiful and lovely I am and really made me feel special. I didn't get it until he started saying that he was ready to retire and open a hotel where-ever I wanted. He asked if I had property and land--if I owned my house, etc. He told me that he made 2 million on every job that he did overseas and did four jobs per year. He lived in Oklahoma City, OK and didn't have any friends because he was "out of town" so much--but he went to church---how can you go to church and not have friends? HA! He lived in a huge house with his cook only. His picture was a huge hunk of a man--he looked awesome. Even when I told him I knew that people posted fake photographs he had me convinced it was him. Only when I told him that "I didn't have income" (that was a test on my part) and asked him for more pictures did he stop contacting me. I wish I could find these Bas***ds! I would send my cousin to take care of business and exstinguish them!

sunshine,
I know that this does not help to heal the emotional wounds, but I am glad to hear that you did "test" him and did not send him any money.

Here is another site you might want to check ou

Post subject:  Thank you!

I am new to dating again and thought internet would be safe--it is not! I will be more careful from now on! I have researched a great deal and I am glad to get new information! I also had another guy named Jermaine contact me from Amsterdam--will write more about him later. I am usually not so easily fooled but I discovered how vunerable I could be to someone who pays such great attention to detail! Thanks so much and your site is great!

I have been emailing a guy name kelly jones who says he lives in Kentucky but has an London phone number where he is there attending a conference and will be home soon. Also contacted by another guy before this one name Johnson. I only communicated with him shortly and I was hoping do any one have any comments or do the name or do the email below sound familiar.

Hello Sunshine,
Love is a noble act of self-giving, offering trust, faith, and loyalty. The more you love, the more you lose a part of yourself, yet you don't become less of who you are; you end up being complete with your loved ones, Never thought that life would be so beautiful until you touched my heart. Thank you for making my life so meaningful to live on. Thank you for giving me a reason to live a precious life.
Smile for the ones you love. A simple smile is all it takes to make one happy. Love can come in many different ways, shapes and sizes... but a simple smile will conquer everything and leave the best of us speechless. I can't stop thinking about you and all that matters to my Life is that you are Happy and I have someone very special who cares for me. After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul, and you learn that love doesn't mean leaning and company doesn't mean security, and you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises, and you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes open, with the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child. You learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans. After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much. So, plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers. And you learn that you really can endure... that you really are strong, and you really do have worth.Your so Amazing, feel free to send me some pics Okay..

Kelly

Now that is a new one on me, most call me sweetie, honi (they can't spell honey) or love, have not have sunshine yet,,, will have to watch for that, there are sure tons of them out there now, almost every other email I get is a scammer, and now they are telling you up front they are in Africia,,,, not to bright of them,,,,,,some I bait for awhile, depends on the stories they tell, had some who have been doing it since 2005, it's sick what they do, but I was scam once so maybe I'm saving some other woman from having that happen to her.,,,, :D

they use names like that because they are running mulitple scams at once, and then they don't have to remember each person's name if they just call them all sweetie, honi, love, etc.
