If you left the amount of the counterfeit check in the old bank account (I believe you said it was $5000 in another post), then when the check comes back they will take that amount from your account. Your account will then be at zero.
They cannot "black ball" you for having a zero account balance, only a negative account that you will not pay.
At this time it is up to you what you want to do . . . fight the bank and try to recover some of that $5000, or cut your losses and close the account and move on. I feel that for each victim that is a very personal choice of which road they want to go down.
