I recently got what I though was a job clearing checks for a company in Italy. I recieved the first check in the amount of $2700. The check cleared and I sent the money to the people in Italy. Two days later I went negative in my bank account and the bank is sticking me with the bag. Claiming the check was counterfeit. What am I supposed to do? Please help

Yes this is a common job scam found on many websites. And yes, you have been scammed, and yes you do owe the bank, which I think is BS, but it's the way it works.... have the offered a payment plan, what has been their approach so far?
