I was at a local postal shipping place today and talked to the owner, he knows about my scam situation and told me of how he recently helped prevent a seller from losing a very expensive stereo system.
The guy was selling the system on the internet and you guessed it got a cashiers check from a man supposedly in Nigeria. He sent the system off and found out the check was counterfeit.
Working quickly with the shipping company, the postal place was able to get his stereo re routed back to the seller before it left the United States.
As for the check it isnt worth the ink and paper its written on.
One Foiled thanks to quick thinking and helpful people,. I explained to him that he could help fight further attempts like this by simply asking the shipper if they got a check for the product they are shipping when they mention its going to Nigeria. If so warn them the check is most likely counterfeit and they need not touch money credited to their account and hold the shipment.
He agreed to do so and was thankful for the information I gave him.
