I sent an e mail to western Union tonight regarding the money that I lost to fraud in 2005? Does anyone know if they will respond? Has anyone explored the possibility that the recipents used fake identification to receive their ill begotten funds? Has anyone tried to work with WU afterwards? Thanks, !

i think you are ineligible to receive a refund for fraudulent sending as part of their user agreement, it's pretty clear, and they tell you to be certain you know who you are sending the money to. check it out. sorry to bear bad news.

You are correct. They responded to me that they could not refund the ill sent money fees from 2005. However, I did find out that the money was picked up in United Kingdom. I do not know how it makes it way to Lagos, Nigeria from there. I imagine that there is a corrupt network in place.

I once called them after sending money, the chat line was hacked into, the person sent to did not get it, or said that. They filed a police report there. I called WU and they said it was picked up approx. 1 hr. before. I filed a fraud complaint, 3 days later I called them, they gave me a MCTN number and I got all the money back. So I think you have to report it at both ends right away. At least that's how it worked for me. Sorry that doesn't help for past money but keep in mind for any future incidences.
By the way, I had emails hacked into twice (2 different ones, not mine, it was the sender and the chat line hacked into). I'd like to know how someone did that.
