Never give your direct email but ask for replies to ads only through replies to craigslist and have them forwarded to you. Scammers are abundant but won't give YOU information - they just want any personal information they can get for you. They will not be direct - they will ask you to remove your ad - they will use spelling and language that make no sense such as

" please get back to me with the following
informations so that the payment can be endorsed:"

Name to be on the check.
Address to mail the payment to.
Phone number both land and mobile.

Give them only your mobile # only and a P O Box to mail a check to and see how fast they either back off OR become insistent on other info including a real address.

payments aren't endorsed - counterfeit "certified bank checks, money orders of any kind, even travelers checks" and possibly other scamming vehicles I never heard of, are in abundant supply. And, avoid Western Union like the plague.

They will have your name, address, phone #'s and armed with that they can access all kinds of other info, especially if you use the internet a lot.

The other way that they could try to scam you with this is with a counterfeit check. They will place the order, send you the check and it will either be for more than the agreed upon amount, or it will be for the correct amount but something will happen and they will have to cancel the order . . . so they they will ask for you to wire them the money. A couple of weeks later the bank will call you to tell you that the check is counterfeit and want you to return the money.
