Hi everyone,

Im new here and havent seen this topic around so Im gonna ask, I just sent a very large cashiers check to someone at a PO Box accross the country. That was 14 days ago and I am sure by now they have cashed it, they wont answer their emails and I never got their phone number.

What points of recourse do I have?

Was this for the purchase of some product or service advertised on the internet?

Have you confirmed with your bank that the check has been cashed/banked?
They should be able to tell you the bank account details that the check was paid into - or was the check actually cashed i.e hand into a bank, and cash given in exchange?

Your only recourse is to file a complaint with eBay, I think. Either that, or call the local police department of the city where you sent the check. They might be able to track down the person. They can at least take a police report so you have it on file if you catch up with the creep. Good luck.
