I was sent four $500 mastercard travellers checks from someone who wanted to buy some things I had for sale on the internet. One was deposited with cash back. The bank teller did not question its validity, and she looked at it for a long time!! Later, while at the Mystic Lake Casino, I asked the cashier if they cashed checks like the one I had. What I got was arrested and spent 2 days in jail for forgery. Apparently the checks were fake. Because my husband was waiting for me, he was also arrested. The check was made out to me, not Mystic. I have the envelope in which they came, and the many emails sent, but no one is interested. Now I have to hire a lawyer for two and live with a felony charge on our records!!!!! I have contacted the Postal Inspector, the FBI, the IFCC, everywhere I could think of. I am most interested in learning why we were arrested, as we are the victims, not the criminals!!! Jennifer |

write a letter/summary of what happened to you (you can view mine at http://scamvictimsunited.com/our_story.htm ) Then go to http://scamvictimsunited.com/resources_cashier's_check.htm and send that letter to every place on that list. I would also suggest sending that letter to the media to try and get even more attention to this scam and your case. You can also send it to me and I can forward it to the media I have worked with in the past, since we are both in MN. |
