I am from Alabama. I received (2) $2500.00 cashier checks, total $5000.00. Was told this person's son was in Africa sick, he needed money for his medical bills. I had been talking to this person about 2 weeks. I had no idea of anything like counterfeit cashiers checks. How stupid could I have been. I have talked with the police, of course they filed a claim on it. However, the bank just cashed the checks no questions asked. Didn't call to verify or anything. Then, two weeks later they come back fraudulent cashier checks. Last but not least, they took the money out of my mother's account. Now they won't put the money back in her account. The bank said they have the right to take her money since I didn't have it in my account. Thats ok, it's going to come back to them one of these day. Let me know if you have any suggestions that I can do. Thanks, Lisa |

write a letter/summary of what happened to you (you can view mine at http://scamvictimsunited.com/our_story.htm ) Then go to http://scamvictimsunited.com/resources_cashier's_check.htm and send that letter to every place on that list. I would also suggest sending that letter to the media to try and get even more attention to this scam and your case. |

Write letters to the Federal Reserve Board (Atlanta, Georgia) regarding this bank and also the state agency in Alabama that regulates this bank. |

I don't see how a bank could take money from your mothers account to cover your loss ? Unless she is a signer on the account . Maybe I'm missing some thing hear ? So that mean's if my parents have a loss to fruad then the bank could take my money . Boy I glad we bank at diffrent banks . |
