I hate to say it, but I just been a victim of the Overpayment Scam that is going around. Local Police, FBI and Secret Service are not interested.

My bank, BOA is not even interested b/c they got their money they lost out of me already. Now my bank account is completely wiped out with a huge credit card bill about to be due (it's huge b/c of this scam too).
I lost a good amount of money.
I will get into details later, b/c these scammers don't know, that I know, that they scammed me and are still trying to contact me to get more money out of me. I'm trying to work with the police in their area to see if they will work with me in baiting them.

I know they must watch these forums, that's why I'm hesitant to go into full detail.
I feel so cheated, I don't trust anyone anymore. I have a wife and a 5mo. old son, and before this, we were just barely getting by, but now with this huge loss...!! :(

Anyhow, I wish there was an organization that helps victims catch these scammers!!! I may have to re-dedicate my life and start one up!

Same bank BOA wiped out my acount leaving me with nothing. I have contacted the Fbi, local Police, attorney general, ect. I was in such a rough spot trying to sell this car that i would have done anything. The ironic part was I asked the teller start out if something happens with this check who is responsible she told me not to worry it wouldn't be my problem. I also noticed that the issuing bank knew about this and has done nothing to infor other banks that cashier checks are being drawn on there bank and to call and verify before taking any action. I am so lost I have no idea what to do how to fight this, I can't afford to pay back the bank. I have had a really tough year, and now I have no money and risk losing everything. Please advise me on what actions you have all taken. Thanks

My husband and I got arrested for felony forgery for having these checks, and no one was interested in our innocence either. I have contacted every website for consumers out there. Now we have to spend thousands for atty fees.

Funny . . . I thought that we were supposed to be innocent until proven guilty?!?!?!?!

In the case of these scams, when a victim is arrested it usually seems to be the other way around. One of our moderators went through this. It took a lot of work, a lot of time, but she eventually got through it and you will too!

We are here to help you in any way that we can! Use the information on the site and this message board when you go to a lawyer and the police. In your case Jennifer, mention us and our case by name, since we are both in the same area of MN.
