I am a free-lance journalist with an M.A. in Criminal Justice but was, nonetheless, nearly a victim of a Nigerian Counterfeit Cashier's Check scam last year; I was warned just in time by a friend who follows fraud schemes. I am working on an article on this issue and would like to include some personal stories that have not yet been published. If you would be willing to tell me your story, please e-mail me with your contact information at bonniejj59@yahoo.com and I will arrange a phone interview. Thanks!

Glad to hear that you did not become a victim.

Feel free to use any information from this site and we would LOVE it if you could mention this website in your story!

Do you plan to use the real names and locations of victims?

Magnolia,

Only with your permission. If you don't want me to use your real name, I'll use a pseudonym. I'll only use hometowns with permission, but would prefer to be able to use states, at least, in order to show distribution of these crimes. People are more wary of being victimized, I think, if they hear a story about it happening to someone who lives in their vicinity.

Thanks for your interest.

Where would this article be published? What kind of information would you be looking for? Are you only working on one type of scam or the many that are listed on this site? I would be willing to consider discussing this with you but would like to know some specifics first.
